Trapinhos: Benjamin Lacombe

Benjamin Lacombe nasceu em Paris em 1982. Frequentou a École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris e aos 19 anos já trabalhava em ilustração. O seu trabalho de final de curso, o livro "Cerise Griotte" (Cherry and Olive), escrito e ilustrado pelo próprio, foi o seu primeiro livro publicado em Março de 2006. No ano seguinte foi publicado nos Estados Unidos tendo sido classificado no top10 do ano pela revista TIME como um dos melhores livros para crianças.

Uma particularidade é que no seu cão Virgil apararece imensas vezes nas páginas dos seus livros. Outra particularidade é que as suas personagens têm sempre um semblante um pouco triste.

Benjamin Lacombe was born in Paris in 1982.
He attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris and by the age of 19 he began illustrating books.His final project « Cherry and Olive », which he has both written and illustrated, became his first children’s book and was published in March 2006. In 2007 his first children's book was released in the USA and nominated one of the top 10 children’s books of the year by the prestigious magazine Time.
Benjamin lives and works in Paris with his dog Virgile, often found hiding among the pages of his books. One peculiarity is that his characteres have always a sad face...
